The terminal operator enables interested parties to contract available regasification capacity through capacity allocation auctions conducted in accordance with the applicable Rules of Operation of the terminal.
Types of Capacities Available for Contracting
The terminal operator offers available capacity for contracting in the form of:
- Annual Regasification Capacity,
- Spot Cargo Regasification Capacity.
Available terminal capacities are offered through auctions in the form of capacity blocks. A capacity block represents an amount of energy, expressed in kWh, that may be delivered, regasified and/or reloaded within a specified time period, depending on the type of regasification capacity.
Contracting Annual Regasification Capacity
Annual regasification capacity refers to the total LNG regasification capacity that a terminal user may utilize during a specific gas year, based on a signed agreement and in accordance with the applicable regulatory framework governing terminal operations.
Annual capacity is allocated via ascending-price auctions, which are generally held once per year, on the first working Tuesday in February.
No later than 30 days before the start of the auction, the terminal operator publishes all necessary information on its website, including:
- participation requirements,
- auction procedure,
- technical and commercial terms of contracting,
- all other relevant information for auction participants.
Contracting Spot Cargo Regasification Capacity
Spot cargo regasification capacity refers to additional LNG regasification capacity offered by the terminal operator outside of the annual capacity framework.
The allocation of spot capacity is conducted through ascending-price auctions organized by the terminal operator when relevant conditions are met.
The operator may also organize spot capacity auctions in the following cases:
- if all terminal users whose schedules could be affected by the allocated spot capacity have provided their explicit prior consent, or
- in the event of a disruption in the gas market that could threaten the security of gas supply in the Republic of Croatia.
Information about each spot capacity auction is published at least 7 days prior to the auction on the operator’s website, including all relevant terms and participation details.
