Zagreb, June 9, 2025 – And so, 15 years passed instantly
15 years since the establishment of LNG Croatia LLC.
Like all great ideas, we started with a lot of scepticism, doubts, distrust, and disapproval.
Many great and, above all, persistent people and visionaries contributed to what we have today, which we can be proud of. We must thank the Government of the Republic of Croatia, led by Mr. Plenković, and the former Minister of Economy, Mr. Ćorić, for their tremendous support, persistence, and patience when no one favoured its construction.
We must also express our gratitude to all the company’s former directors, including Mr. Frančić, Mrs. Dorić, and Mr. Krhen, without whom we would not have what we have today: a modern, successful, safe, and reliable LNG Terminal.
This terminal has not only ensured the maximum security of natural gas supply for the Republic of Croatia but has also become an important energy hub for this part of Europe, providing other countries in the region with a reliable source of natural gas.
We must also acknowledge all our opponents, critics, dissenters, and even green activists. They all keep us focused and motivated to always rise above the standard and constantly prove that we are different and that they are wrong.
Finally, most of all, THANK YOU to all former and current employees of LNG Croatia and the entire former and current crew of the FSRU vessel LNG Croatia, including captains Šatalić, Martić and Ćosić. You are the ones who silently enable all this and constantly meet and work with those two well-known comments: ” This has not happened anywhere yet” and “You are the first to do this like this.” You know best what we went through to be here today.
